Who are we?
We are a group of nerds that wanted to bring the comic con experience to the Black Hills of South Dakota. Our staff and board have a variety of years of experience in the geek convention industry, varying from 10 years to over 20 years of experience! Events and Organizations that they have worked at are Nan Desu Kan in Denver, SoDak Con (2009-2018), Black Hills Con, Dakota Mini Nerd Con, Advisors of Siouxper Con (2015-2018), Denver Comic Con (2012), Sogen Con (2011-2013), Black Hills Renaissance Festival, Black Hills Pride Festival, Bunny's Heroes, Rapid City Arts Council (2016-2018),
Cosplaypolitan (2017 -2021), Felbis Productions (2019), LARP: Black Hills, Black Hills MicroCon (2015-2017), and many more!*

What Do we Do?
MidWest FanFest is an event run 100% by volunteers! Our goal is to provide a fun event for the community and our fellow geeks while helping to support Box Elder while promoting art and pop culture within our Black Hills communities.

Our MIssion
MidWest FanFest works to bring the unique experience of a pop culture convention to the Black Hills to encourage, support, celebrate and educate our local community of the benefits of the arts and business of pop culture including hosting conventions, events, panels, community outreach to foster a healthy entertainment and media industry in the state of South Dakota while keeping costs affordable and offering opportunities for fans that wouldn’t be able to otherwise.
